Horror writer Guy N. Smith has died, aged 81.

Smith was responsible for a slew of horror novels, with Night of the Crabs and its successors making his name. He became a full time writer, penning over 200 novels, as well as Gun Editor for The Countryman’s Weekly. He also novelised various Disney films in the mid-1970s

Many of his books have returned to print in recent times and he continued penning new tales, with The Reaper released in late 2018.
