Speaking exclusively to Sci-Fi Bulletin, Primeval co-creator Adrian Hodges revealed that he was very pleased that production has begun this week on New World, the new iteration of the show being made by Omni Productions in Vancouver.

“Obviously I’m very pleased the series has started and I do think it’s fair to see it as a new era for Primeval,” he pointed out. “With the film gathering pace at Warner Bros it does feel as though the possible demise of the British show (although we haven’t totally given up on that) really isn’t the end. Andrew’s appearance in the Canadian show, which is a one-off for now, is about providing an organic link between the two shows and giving fans of the British show a point of entry to the new programme, which is linked to our mythology, though it tells a rather different story.”
