New Stephen King adaptations unveiled (video)

We’re not quite back at the level of the “New Stephen King Movie” every month yet, but interest in the genre master’s work continues apace as the 40th anniversary of the publication of Carrie approaches in 2014.

Sinister director and co-writer Stephen Derrickson is working with Jason Blum’s Blumhouse on an adaptation of King’s “Breathing Method”, the only one of the four novellas contained in the Different Seasons collection that hasn’t yet been brought to the screen. (Apt Pupil, The Shawshank Redemption and Stand by Me are based on the other three stories.) The script will be written by Scott Teems.

Meanwhile, a new trailer for the update of Carrie has been released, starring Chloe Grace Moretz as the troubled teen.
