Stargate and Sanctuary star Amanda Tapping has signed up for a recurring role on the eighth season of Supernatural.
The accomplished actress, whose directorial work will be seen on Primeval: New World later this year, told her fans on Twitter that she was “very excited” about the news. According to TV Line who broke the news, she will be playing Naomi, a “cool and mysterious” character, who showrunner Jeremy Carver explains, is “part of a new group of angels we’ve never seen before.”
Her first appearance will be in the seventh episode, “A Little Slice of Kevin”. The new season begins on the CW on October 3rd.
The Lovely Amanda would seem a good reason to tune back in to a long-past-its-best (with “best” being, arguably, a relative term in this series’ case) Supernatural.
