As part of their upfront presentations revealing their line up for the new season, the CW has released clips from their new shows.
In the segment from the pilot of Beauty And The Beast, Kirstin Kreuk’s character is attacked along with her mother – but is saved by the timely intervention of… something.
A more important question perhaps is: will the thousands of fans of the original series give this new version a chance? Let us know what you think below:
Isn’t Kristin Kreuk the girl from Smallville? The one that said (while still playing Lana Lane) she wasn’t that interested in acting, she wanted to study forensics? Hunh. I guess everyone has their price…can’t say I was that impressed with her acting, but maybe she’s taken lessons or gotten a coach since then?
I was such a HUGE follower of Beauty & the Beast of the eighties…the one with the twin towers in their opening credits. What they learned is that once the chemistry of the pairing is demolished, everyone might as well pack up and go home. Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton’s scenes together were surreal and the first two seasons of the show were too perfect for television. (And Ron Perlman’s voice as Vincent can still do things to me even after all this time…) The music in that show, and the underground city and their community…nothing could ever match it.
I’ll give the new show a chance–but it has impossible standards to live up to.
