Star Trek‘s Captain Kirk is to face off against regulars Ian Hislop and Paul Merton and guests Andy Hamilton and Charlie Brooker as the guest host on BBC 2′s news quiz show Have I Got News For You on Friday 25 May.
At 81, William Shatner hopes his unique sense of humour will see him hold his own against several seasoned comedy professionals. ‘[The] English sense of humour is different from [the] American sense of humour. Luckily, I’m Canadian,’ he quipped.
Shatner joins a long list of guest hosts who have appeared on the show since regular host Angus Deayton left the series a decade ago, including Doctor Who actor Alexander Armstrong and Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch.
